Joel Dufresne is a photographer currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Though he mainly works freelance as a skateboard photographer for magazines, Dufresne shoots all genres. To date he has been published in Concrete Skateboarding, Color Magazine, and Transworld SKATEboarding, and has done graphic work for a number of companies. Dufresne works for Color Magazine doing pre-press work and photography. Backing his photographic skills, Dufresne writes, does web-site design, flash animation, graphic/logo design, and has an advanced working knowledge of Adobe's CS3 programs. Dufresne got into photography through the skateboard magazines he read when he started skateboarding in 1997. In 2001 he decided to buy an SLR, and learned the majority of what he knows through reading and practice. Dufresne's desire to learn more lead him to enroll at Western Academy of Photography (Victoria, BC) in September of 2005, and has since graduated with Diplomas in Photojournalism and Advanced Visual Communications. |
